Mobile Development Internship — Unpaid

Page Turners is transforming how people engage with books and each other through our AI-powered, reading-tracking social app. As an early-stage startup, we’re moving fast, and this is your chance to gain practical experience and develop critical skills in a dynamic product environment. This 12-week, remote-first unpaid internship is designed for aspiring mobile developers seeking a true product-building experience and a potential entry into the tech industry. It’s focused on intensive skill development, direct mentorship, and contributions to our innovative app. This is a mostly remote position, with occasional in-person meetings.

This internship offers a hands-on experience where you’ll directly engage with real-world mobile app development. You’ll collaborate with our team to:

Develop and implement specific modules related to our recommendation system, gaining practical experience in AI/ML application within a live product.
Design and build mobile UI components that contribute to the user experience of Page Turners, deepening your understanding of mobile architecture and best practices.
Engage with and optimize backend data systems, learning about database management, scalability, and data integrity in a production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (or in-progress) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Working knowledge of Python and SQL
Experience with Swift (iOS development)
Familiarity or interest in machine learning and personalization algorithms

After internship

Chance for a Full-Time Paid Job: Top-performing interns may be considered for a full-time paid position at Fly Rentals after they finish the internship, based on their work and how well they fit with our team.

Web Developer Internship – Unpaid

Apply your backend development fundamentals to a real-world platform at Fly Rentals. We’re building the go-to platform for booking private aircrafts, aiming to make private air travel fast, accessible, and user-friendly. This is your chance to gain practical experience and develop critical skills within a dynamic product environment. This unpaid, 12-week remote internship is for web developers who want to gain real product experience and start a career in tech. It focuses on strong skill development, direct guidance from mentors, and helpful work on our platform. It’s mostly remote, with some in-person meetings for learning and project reviews.

No busywork or just watching – this internship offers a hands-on experience where you’ll work directly on real web development. You’ll team up with our backend group to:

Build specific parts for our platform’s main systems, learning how to design and create strong backend setups.
Help with data tasks, learning about how databases are set up, making data searches faster, and keeping information correct in a live system.
Design and build features that help make a fast, easy-to-use web experience, helping you understand how backend work affects what users see.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or in-progress) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Working knowledge of at least one of the following:
- Python (Django)
- JavaScript (Express.js)
- Rust (Axum)
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL or MySQL)
Familiarity with backend architecture
A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
